Oregon State Park Challenge

Our little band of characters has come up with a fun family challenge: to visit all of the 194 Oregon State Parks!

The Rules

  1. “Visiting” means camping at the campgrounds, and thoroughly exploring the day use parks.
  2. At least two of us have to be present to check each park off the list.

Ben is a total nerd, and although wordpress.com won’t let him embed it here, he wants to show off his cool tracking system!

  1. Banks-Vernonia is a wonderful bike trail that you are sure to love. Bob Straub has a literary history – check with me if you have a chance before you go. Champoeg and Crown Point are both good on dreary days, and you can easily combine Bridal Veil with Crown Point; also the Portland Women’s Forum. Cape Lookout: love love love the day hike to the end of the Cape. Camped at Emigrant Springs one night in April and woke up to snow on the tent! Be sure to visit Tmasklit when you are there. Oooh, I’ve been wanting to visit Kam Wah Chung for YEARS!!

Way to make a ton of family memories!
