#57: Go Roller Skating

This is part of our 100 Things in 2014 challenge. Here’s the full list.

We’ve taken each of the kids to Oaks Park (“where the fun never ends!”) on their own, but we’ve never been as a family before. Here was our chance!

The giant pipe organ was in action too, playing Christmas carols!

Lucy decided to take it slow this time, and tool around in the beginner areas before skating on the big track. She kept giving herself challenges, and was getting better the whole time.

Will, on the other hand, had his daredevil pants on. He wanted to go fast. He kept falling (sometimes spectacularly), but always got up with a smile and tried again. We were pretty proud of how hard he pushed and kept trying.

Overall this was a really positive experience for all of us. A large amount of fun was had, and we all got to stretch our legs (and comfort zones) a bit.
