This is part of our Oregon State Park challenge! Check out our progress here.
We drove all the way to Depoe Bay from our little condo in Lincoln City, and found a friend.
We also found the Whale Watching Center, which is exactly what you would expect.
There are lots of activities inside. The kids followed a scavenger-hunt worksheet around the whole place.
There’s a giant stuffed humpback whale with an unknown purpose.
You can even make origami whales, and dig for whale bones. Which seems kind of odd.
There are plenty of sets of binoculars for viewing, but our day was pretty rainy, and visibility wasn’t good. We spotted some buouys!
This was a fun stop, and we enjoyed it. If you’re passing through and need to stretch your legs for half an hour, we recommend it. Plus, if you come through during a storm, you can walk along the seawall and watch the spouting horns, and maybe even get soaked like we did. (Sorry, no photos; salt water and cameras hate each other.)
Good for you to find fun no matter the weather. The kids are sure getting tall!
