Portland (aka Bridgetown) just got its first new bridge in 40 years! It’s called Tilikum Crossing (tilikum is Chinook jargon for “people”), and it’s beautiful. No cars are allowed, though; only walkers, bikers, and transit. We took an afternoon and walked from one side to the other, and back around again on the Hawthorne Bridge.

It’s a rather nice addition to the city, and made for a perfect fall outing for the whole family.
