#63: Cork Walls for Lucy

Lucy creates a lot of art and awards, and loves cute things. She needed somewhere to put all this stuff.

This is part of our 100 Things in 2016 challenge. Here’s the full list.

She’s got a lot of wall space, but her content is going to rotate, so we needed something where the hanging pieces could move around and be replaced without destroying her walls. We found cork tiles and panels at the craft store, and two hours later we had a blank canvas. Three months after that, and it looks like this:

To avoid these becoming a problem, we have a rule: if you find yourself covering something up, you’ve got too many things on your walls. Find something that can go. This is what we feel is an important lesson in filtering: not everything that passes through your hands is precious. Find the things that are truly meaningful to you, and let go of the rest.
