#60: Eat at an Old Guard Portland Restaurant (Le Bistro Montage)

The restaurant business is tough. Something like 60% of restaurants fail in their first three years. So when a place has been around for a while, you know it’s something special.

This is part of our 100 Things in 2018 challenge. Make sure to click on the photos!

Le Bistro Montage was founded in 1992, which makes it 26 years old this year. That’s quite an accomplishment, and for those who grew up in the Portland area, it’s something of a landmark, famous for mac and cheese. Becky used to go here in high school!

We took Lucy there, and got her to try alligator. Her reaction at the time wasn’t overly positive, but she loved being able to tell her friends at school about it the next day.

As for us, we highly enjoyed it. The food is great, the atmosphere is incomparable, the drinks are strong, and the leftovers are gorgeous. There are lots of reasons this place has stuck around, and we highly encourage you to go find out for yourselves.
