I had made it to 42 without riding a horse, so when Ben booked our lodging at a horse ranch I decided it was about time.

We booked an hour-long guided tour and learned how to groom and saddle our horses before setting out. Then we hit the trail. Boy, did I not enjoy it! But I tried! There were so many mosquitoes that our guide’s horse actually stopped and refused to go on; she had to get off and drag it along. It made me wonder what she was talking about when she kept telling me that I was the boss of my own horse…

Anyhow, I’m not anti-horse, but this is not something I’m likely to do again.
