La Pine in June

Near the end of June, the six of us headed out to my parents property out in La Pine for several days of relaxing, exploring all things volcano, and just getting dirty.

We took a trip up to the Big Obsidian Flow and hiked around:

We attended the opening ceremonies for the newly paved trails at Lava Butte, and were some of the first folks to walk on them:

Hiked the 1 mile in and 1 mile back out again Lava River Cave (the kids walked the whole way!):
